TOUR PACKAGES:

  • All Inclusive - covers all expenses related to the tour including international as well as in-country airfare, three meals per day, airport transfers, hotel, guided tours, tips and gratuities.
  • Gold Standard - covers international and in-country aifare, daily breakfast and lunch, welcome and farewell dinners, hotel, airport transfers, guided tours, tips for guides, drivers, and porters;  does not cover tips and gratuities for maid and food service workers.
  • Standard - covers international and in-country airfare, breakfast only, hotel, airport transfers, guided tours; does not cover tips and gratiities.
  • Independent - covers international airfare, hotel, and daily breakfast only

RIO 5-DAY TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1:  Depart USA for Rio with meals served onboard flight

DAY 2:  Morning arrival into Rio Airport and clear customs before being transferred to your hotel.  In the early evening, have a"Welcome Drink and Dinner" before attending an exciting cabaret show "Rio by Night" where you will have a chance to test your samba skills. Rio is "Brazil's Center of Style".

DAY 3:  Ride a cog train as it takes you throught the Tijuca Forest and high to the top of Corcovada Mountain where at the summit you will see the impressive "Christ The Reedemer" statue for a sweeping view of the city below and its beautiful beaches.  In the afternoon take a cable car ride to the top of Sugar Loaf, the soaring granite peak that over-looks the city of Rio and its stunning harbor.  "Farewell Dinner in the evening. Optional visit to a Samba school available.

DAY 4:  Take some free time for the beach, last minute shopping or just some R&R.  Transfer mid-afternoon to the airport for your return flight to the USA

DAY 5:  Early morning arrival into the USA in time to make connections to home destinations.

BAHIA 6-DAY TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1:  Depart USA for Salvador, Bahia with a plane change in either Sao Paulo or Rio before arriving mid-day into Salvador.  Clear customs and then transfer to your hotel.  In the evening have a "Welcome Drink & Dinner" followed by a folklorico cultural performance "Bahia by Night" and experience the "Soul of Brazil".

DAY 2:  Tour the Upper & Lower Cities  of Salvador with its many craft markets, churches, and Palohourina area of the city.  Experience the culture and the people first hand.  You will have a chance to test your shopping skills as well at the shops and in the market.

DAY 3:  Get out your bathing suite and get ready for an exciting cruise around some of the islands near Salvador.  Have a wonderful beach party with a great lunch.  You can even visit some of the islands and learn from the locals how they live and work. 

DAY 4:  Drive to the village of Cachoiera  for a tour of the city and meet the Sisters of Boa Morte, a sorority of women who are the direct descendants of Africans from Nigeria brought to Brazil during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.  They practice the culture and have syncretized the traditional African Religion with the worship of the Virgin Mary.  This is a rich cultural experience not to be missed. Lunch is included in this tour. Return to Salvador at the end of the day.

DAY 5:  Take some free time to go to the beach, do some last minute shopping and packing before transferring to the airport in the afternoon for your return flight to the USA.

DAY 6:  Morning arrivals into the USA in time to make connections to home destinations.

CULTURAL BRAZIL TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1:  Depart USA for Rio with meals served onboard flight.

DAY 2:  Arrival into Rio airport with transfers to hotel after clearing customs.  Have a "Welcome Drink & Dinner" in the evening. Sunday arrivals can visit the "Hippie Market" to meet local craftspersons and barter for beautiful handmade gifts and curios.  In the evening,  attend a cabaret show "Rio by Night" and dance the samba while you enjoy the splendor of "Brazil's City of Style".

DAY 3:  Ride a cog train to through the Tijuca Forest to the top of Corcovado Mountain where at the summit you will see the statue of Christ the Reedemer for an inspiring view of Rio below and its beaches.  After lunch, take a cable car ride to Sugar Loaf, the peak of which overlooks the beautiful city of Rio and its stunning harbor below.

DAY 4: Take a tour of one of the communities where you will meet with the locals and learn about the culture.  Enjoy a cooking class and learn to prepare Feijoada, Brazil's national dish.  An an option in the evening, you can attend a samba school and watch the groups as they prepare for Carnival.  For the not so faint hearted, you can even try out your samba skills.

DAY 5: Check out of your hotel for tranfers to the airport for your in-country flight to Bahia, "The Soul of Brazil".  Arrive into Salvador and then transfer to your hotel.  In the evening have a "Welcome Drink & Dinner" and attend a cultural show, "Bahia by Night" where you will see traditional dances as the folkloric group gives honor to the culture and the African traditional religious dieties.

DAY 6: Take a city tour of the Upper & Lower cities where you will see the beautiful colonial architecture, churches, craft markets and the Palhourina area.  Visit a cultural community and learn how the people live and work.  This is a shop 'till you drop day and you will have plenty of opporunities to test your bartering skills.

DAY 7:  Drive to Cachoiera for a tour of the city. Here you will also meet the Sisters of Boa Morte, a sorority of women who are the direct descendants of Africans from Nigeria brought to Brazil during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. DAY 8:  Take some free time today for your personal exploration. Visit to the beach, do some additional shopping or get some R&R.  In the evening, attend an authentic Concomble religious ceremony at one of the locval spiritual houses where you will learn about the traditional African religions and its practices in Brazil.

DAY 9:  Today take a bay cruise to some of the villages and islands that around Salvador.  Get out your bathing suit for a dip in the wondrous water and have a picnic lunch during your day.  Visit with the locals in the villages and learn how they live and work.  Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.  Attend a "Farewell Dinner" in the evening.

DAY 10:  This is a free day for last minute shopping and packing or getting in the last rays of sun.  Mid-afternoon transfers to the airport for your return flight to the USA.

DAY 11:  Morning arrivals into the USA in time for connections to home destinations.  

 


Tour Extensions


Previously listed tours can be extended and/ or combined with the optional tour extensions as preferred for unique travel experiences. Some of the available tour options include the following:

FROM RIO

Rio/Buzio:  Extend your basic Rio tour by one or two days by taking a drive to the charming town of Buzio located 2 hours north of Rio and which is surrounded by over 20 outstanding beaches comparable to those of St. Tropez. On the following day, take a mid afternoon transfer to the airport for your return flights to home destinations.

Rio Bay Cruise:  Add an extra day to your Rio tour by spending the day taking a wonderful bay schooner cruise around to visit the islands in the blue bay. Overnight in Rio and return back to home destinations on the same day or the following day as preferred. 

Rio/Angra dos Reis:  Drive to Andros, one of the most beautiful places in Brazil composed of 365 islands and 2000 beaches.  It is also known for the cultural attractions with historicval monumentrs, churches, and buildings remaining from its heyday. Check into your hotel and spend some time on the beach, shopping, or taking in some of its high end restaurants.  This is also a golfer's paradise and you can spend the next day perfecting your game.  Return to Rio on in time to transfer to the airport for your return flights to home destinations.  This is either a 2 or 3 day tour depending on your preference.

Rio/Paraty:  Depart from Rio and drive to Paraty, one of Brazil's most beautiful colonial citiies and considered one of Brazil's national monuments. Check into your hotel with the day at your leisure.  On the following day, do some ecotourism to Trinidade, a fishing area with time for swiming and treeking.  Return to Rio on the third day in time to make your connection for the return international flight back home.

FROM SALVADOR &/OR RIO

Igassu Itinerary:   Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Iguazu.  Visit the falls in the afternoon.  Iguazu Falls has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  It has 275 waterfalls shaped by 120 million years of geologivcal history creating a most amazing sight.  After an overnight stay at yoru hotel, today you will visit the Itipu Dam, the 7th largest in the world.  On the third day, transfer to the airport for the return flights back home.

Amazon Itinerary:  Transfer from your hotel to the airport and meet your flight to Manaus. Check into your hotel and then take a sightseeing tour of the city. The following day you will check into your Amazon hotel and then transfer to the Amazon Ecopark where you will receiveg historical and georgraphical information about the Amazon.  You will receive a briefing about the park after which you will take a guided nature walk thorughout the property and learn about the local fauna and flora of the area.  Continue to the "Monkey Jungle" where researchers and sceintists are working with rehabiliting monkeys, which have been captive. Take dinner in the late evening. 

Amazon Clipper Cruise Itinerary:  Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Manaus. After checking into your hotel, take a sightseeing tour of the city.  On the following day, you will depart from your hotel  to your river boat.  Cruise will take you through Xiborena and Careiro regions to Curari.  Then take a canoe trip in the smaller creeks ot see life in the region with jute, market and garden produce, rubber trees as well as forest, lakes and giant water lillies (in season).  Return to your cruise ship at sunset.  Overserve the animal nightlife as you cruise up the Amazon (Rio Solimoes) to the Janauaca.  Early in the next morning, take a canoe trip to do some excellent birdwatching. Return to your ship for breakfast. Visit with the inhabitants of the Lake who live from manioc plantations, fishing, diverse fruit trees, wood, rubber and Brazil nuts plantations as well as other extractive products.  Walk in the forest with a guide and naturalist.  Return to your boat for lunch.  You can even try your hand at a little fishing for piranhas and other fish types.  After dinner, you will have a night trip to see nocturnal animals as you go downstream on the Amazon.  The following morning go to the Januari Ecological Park and take in a little birdwatching and after breakfast return to your hotel landing with airport transfers in Manaus for the return flights to home destinations.
