CONDITIONS & POLICIES
AIR: Get Away Brazil Vacations (GABV) originate from the gateway cities of New York and Miami. Add-on flights from most cities to these two cities are available. Economy jet IATA carriers are utilized unless otherwise specified. Flight class upgrades are available upon request for additional fees. Prices are not guaranteed until ticketed. GABV is not responsible for any deviations, stopovers, or price changes issued by the airlines.
BAGGAGE: Current restrictions limit the number of checked bags weighing not more than 50 pounds each to two (2) without incurring additional costs. Carry-on bags are restricted to a total of two bags inclusive of purses, briefcases, computers, etc.
OCCUPANCY: Tour prices are based on double occupancy unless otherwise specified. A limited number of single rooms are available at an additional cost and mut be paid prior to the departure date. GABV makes every attempt to link single travelers with a roommate of the same sex to avoid these additional costs whenever possible.
MEALS: Breakfast is included in all tour packages. Welcome and Farewell Dinners as well as daily lunch is included in most tour packages with the exception of "On Your Own" packages. Three meals per day are included in the "All Inclusive" packages.
TIPS & GRATUITIES: Tips for guides, drivers, and porters are included in the package price of all tours except "On Your Own" packages. Tips for maids, housekeeping, and food service workers are not included in the tour packages.
CHANGES: Name changes are permitted. A net service fee of $50.00 is charged for every change involving names, departure cities, and/or for any changes made within 45 days of departure. Other airline service fees may also apply for changes in flight times, dates, or departure cities.
SIGHTSEEING: A detailed tour itinerary as outlined will provide comfortable ground, air, and/ or sea travel services within the host country as required to fulfill tour packages. All guides are English speaking and government licensed. All entrance fees to tour sights, unless otherwise specified, are included in the tour price when applicable.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Both a passport and a visa are required for United States citizens to travel to Brazil. Citizens from other countries should check with the Embassy of Brazil or their nearest Brazilian Consulate for their specific entry requirements. No special immunizations are required for travel to Brazil unless traveling to the Amazon region of the country. Check with your nearest health department or personal physician for your specific situation and/or medical condition.
EXCLUSIONS: The costs of passports, visas, immunizations, and medications are not included in the tour package prices. Costs for phone calls, faxes, internet services and room service are not included in the tour package prices. Any fees associated with excess baggage or any other items of a personal nature are not included in the tour package. Unless otherwise specified, no beverages of any kind are included in the tour package prices.
TAXES: Our tour and vacation prices are initially listed without taxes and fees unless specified as these may vary and can range from $40 - $200 per person depending on the airlines and hotels. GABV does post the amount of these taxes and fees on your invoice once your tour is booked after we know the dates of travel and the length of your tour. Items that make up total taxes include some of the following: U.S. Transportation Taxes, Customs User Fee, APHIS User Fee, Security Fees, September 11th Security Fee, Passenger Facility Charges, and Segment Taxes. Foreign taxes and fees include: International Boarding Tax, Embarkation Tax, Security Taxes and more. These fees can range from $20 - $100. These are subject to change without notice.
BOOKING & PAYMENT: A deposit fee of $400 is required to secure passage on all tours regardless of their final cost. Payments for tours can be in the form of cash, money orders, bank drafts, cashier's checks, electronic wire tranfers, or credit cards. Only MasterCard and Visa credit cards are accepted for tours. Personal checks are not accepted for payment. All payments must be made by the specified deadline as printed for each respective tour. A late fee of 5% of the unpaid may be accessed for all payments not postmarked by the deadline date up to 45 days prior to the tour departure date. Returned checks are charged an additional fee of $35.00 if they do not lcear the bank at the time of the first presentation. GABV reserves the right to cancel passage for any passenger who has not met the payment deadlines.
CANCELLATIONS: Passengers may cancel space without penalty up to 75 days prior to the departure date of their respective vacation or tour. Cancellation fees are assessed for all other times prior to the departure date as follows: $200 (74-60 days); $300 (59-45 days); $500 (44-30 days); $750 (29 - 15 days). Cancellations made less than 14 days from the departure date, "no-shows", or those made after the start of the tour or vacation, receive no refund. Likewise, no refund is given in the event of trip interruptions. Medical cancellations are reviewed on an individual bases and require medical documentation. Trip interruption and cancellation insurance is highly recommended. Prior to departure, if for any reason, accommodations or flights are not available, GABV reserves the right to substitute such accommodations and/or flights fo equal or better quality or the best available in order to meet its fulfillment obligations.
RESPONSIBILITY: GABV assumes no liability or responsibility for any injuries damages, or loss of property, accident, delay, change in the schedule, itinerary or incidental damages occasioned by circumstances beyond the control of GABV or by any persons or reason whatsoever, including any third party providing services or facilities related to or included in these tour packages or any part therof, or in arranging the same. The IATA carriers and other transportation companies whose services are featured in our tour packages are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time the passengers are not on board their respective conveyance. The passage contract in use by these companies when issued shall constitute the liability or responsibility in connection therewith. It is the full responsbility of each passenger to notify GABV, prior to departure, or any medical conditions that may limit full tour participation, any special dietary issues or preferences, and any other health related information that may interfere with or prevent participation in some of the tour or vacation activities. In some instances, medical documentation may be required in order to travel and participate in tour activities. In such cases, a waiver of liability will be required prior to departure. Children under 18 years of age are not permitted on any of our tours unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A waiver of liability is required for all persons responsible for children under the age of 18 who travel on these tours or vacations. Waiver of liability forms are provided.
